Planting & Care Tips

Divide Monte Carlo into small portions and plant them a few centimetres apart in nutrient-rich aquarium substrate. This allows the individual portions to spread and gradually form a dense green carpet.

Provide suitable lighting, balanced nutrients and stable water conditions. CO₂ supplementation is optional, but it significantly helps the plant develop a compact, low-growing carpet. Without injected CO₂, growth may be slower and more upright.

Trim the carpet regularly to prevent excessive thickness and shading of the lower leaves. Healthy trimmings can be replanted to fill empty spaces and expand the carpet. Monte Carlo can also be attached to rocks and driftwood with aquarium-safe glue or placed into suitable gaps in the hardscape.
