Salzmann’s Mille Graines is an undemanding aquarium plant with relatively fast growth. It performs well under medium lighting and can tolerate moderate carbonate hardness.
CO₂ supplementation is not essential, but providing CO₂ can promote healthier and faster growth. The plant prefers cooler temperatures up to 25°C and can also tolerate cold-water conditions below 20°C.
Propagation is easy and can be done through stem cuttings. Occasionally, shoot tips may detach and float around the aquarium, which is considered normal for this plant.
The plant develops very fine roots that provide limited anchoring in the substrate. As older growth becomes established, stems may become uprooted, making it necessary to replant the detached shoot tips.
